Performers Matt Bauer and Garrett Pierce are scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Friday in the second-floor gallery of the Merced Multi-Cultural Arts Center.
Pierce and Bauer will appear as part of the Gallery Concert Series, a monthly all-ages concert featuring local, national and international singer/songwriters, sponsored by Downtown Life Magazine in partnership with the Merced County Arts Council, according to a press release.
Bauer grew up in Kentucky, and his melodies and banjo style bear the markings of traditional mountain music, bluegrass and early country, but his sound is distinctly contemporary.
Pierce is a Los Angeles native who has spent the last decade in San Francisco and Davis, where he's delivered two full-length albums. He has a new album due out later in October, according to the release.
The DLM and the MCAC have co-presented concerts in the Arts Center's Black Box Theater over the last year, attracting performers such as Spirits of the Red City, Emily Jane White, The French Cassettes and dozens of others.
The Arts Center is located at 645 W. Main St. Doors for the show open at 7 p.m. Beer and wine are available for patrons over the age of 21.
Tickets for the all-ages show are $5 and are available at www.thedlm.com by clicking on the Brown Paper Tickets tab or directly at at http://dlmpresents.bpt.me. If space is still available, tickets will be available at the door.
