Merced SPCA meeting

‘Christmas Classics’

“Christmas Classics and Carols,” the annual holiday production by the Merced College Chorale, will air on KYOS (1480 AM) at 8 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. It replaces the program “Community Conversations,” which takes its holiday break. The hourlong concert will feature Christmas classics that were performed live earlier this month.

Celebrate the new year

Celebrate with the Twi’ Lighters from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. New Year’s Eve at the Merced American Legion Hall, 939 W. Main St. Music to be played will include Latin, country, salsa and old-school. NYE dance with Force ’em

Club Mercedes will hold a New Year’s Eve dance from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday at 569 W. Ninth St. The Fresno band Force ’em will play. The cost is $15 per person, and people must be 21 years old or older to enter. A full beverage bar and snack bar will be open for purchases. For more information, call (209) 383-9906.

ACE Overcomers class

Struggles with depression, anxiety or anger might be a lingering response to a difficult childhood. ACE Overcomers is a program that helps people cope with such effects. It is a 12-week course that equips people to understand and overcome self-defeating thought and behavior patterns. ACE begins a new free class in January. For more information, call (209) 617-4688.

Senior fitness class
