Two people were stabbed with a screwdriver Wednesday night in Livingston, police said.

Police Chief Ruben Chavez described the injuries suffered by the two young male victims as “non-life-threatening.”

The identities of the victims were not immediately available.

Officers are searching for three suspects in the attack, Chavez said.

No arrests have been made.

Descriptions of the suspects were not available Wednesday.

Several people were drinking in an open garage around 6 p.m. in the 800 block of Briarwood Drive. Some type of argument broke out and at least one man brandished a screwdriver and stabbed the two victims, police said.

Chavez said several of the people involved in the incident are “known gang members,” but said it was still too early to know if the incident was motivated by any gang activity. “The motive is still under investigation and you just can’t be sure when alcohol gets involved in an argument,” Chavez said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective-Sgt. Ray Fong at the Livingston Police Department at (209) 394-7916.
