The Merced County Community Action Agency will host its Empty Bowl project to fight hunger in Merced County from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Atwater Community Center, 760 E. Bellevue Road. A donation of $20 will allow community members to receive a meal of soup, bread, and a handcrafted bowl to keep as a reminder of all the people who go hungry in the community. All proceeds will be used to feed the homeless of Merced County. For tickets or to donate, call (209) 381-5290, or email jjuarez@mercedcaa.org.
