Merced College looking for proposals for College for Kids

One of Merced College’s most popular programs, College for Kids, is accepting instructor proposals for the 2014 summer program.

Organizers for College for Kids are seeking instructor proposals for the summer program at Merced College, according to a news release.

A form for proposals can be found at www.mercedcommunityservices.com. The deadline to submit proposals is Feb. 7.

College for Kids, offered through Merced College’s Community Services office, begins in mid-June and concludes in late July. Most classes are two weeks long and are offered multiple times during the summer.

The three sessions include classes in performing arts, aquatics, arts, fitness, cooking, math, science, language arts and Spanish as well as sports camps and career exploration.

The programs are designed for children going into the fourth through eighth grades.

Instructors are needed for aquatics, archery, marine biology, math basics, art, mosaics, music, ceramics, robotics, computers, rock climbing, cooking, sewing, crafts, space exploration, tennis, dance, volleyball, fitness and youth theater, among other classes.
