Atwater chamber meeting

The Atwater Chamber Networking Coffee meeting will be Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 1181 3rd St. Host will be Randy Rolfe, author and Nikken independent wellness consultant.

Farmers Insurance lunch

Help plan city’s birthday party

Merced is turning 125. Come help plan the April event celebrating the founding of the city. Volunteers are sought to help plan and carry out the activities. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St. For more information, call (209) 385-6834 or visit

Youth Assembly this weekend

Young people are invited to a Youth Assembly on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the foyer of the Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St. The Youth Assembly is open to students from eighth through 12th grades who attend schools in the city of Merced. The event was organized by the Merced Youth Task Force, a group of students with adult advisers who are working to create a Youth Council. The Merced City Council wants to establish the Youth Council in order to improve communications with young people in the city.

State retirees to meet

California State Retirees will gather for a luncheon and meeting March 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Carrow’s Restaurant, 720 Motel Drive. It will be an opportunity to get the latest news from this month’s California State Retiree’s board of directors meeting on issues affecting state retirees. No reservations required. Lunch is free for first-time attendees.

Relay for Life sale

Merced Relay for Life parking lot sale will be Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Merced High School parking lot on Olive Avenue. The proceeds will be used to help prevent cancer, fund research and save lives.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo concert

Arts UC Merced presents Ladysmith Black Mambazo, 2014 Grammy Award winner, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Art Kamangar Center at the Merced Theatre. Tickets are $15 to $25. For more information, visit or call (209) 381-0500.
