Building materials sale
The Merced College High School Math Competition will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Merced College. The competition is open to teams from local high schools and is designed to challenge students with an extensive knowledge of algebra and geometry. For more information, call (209) 384-6353.
Trail ride and dinner
The Elks Park Pancake Breakfast will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the park. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children; includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, orange juice and coffee. Bloody marys and screwdrivers will also be available. All proceeds go to support the Elks Park.
Trust fund disbursement
The Merced City Council will disburse funds from the Wahnetta Hall Trust Fund to establish and maintain a mini-train system and/or a band concert program in Applegate Park. The application deadline is Monday. Nonprofit organizations interested should submit their request letters to Mike Conway, Director, Office of Recreation, 678 W. 18th St., Merced, 95340.
