Shakespearefest returns

Merced Shakespearefest will present “Romeo and Juliet” at 7:30 p.m. March 28-29 and at 2 p.m. March 30, at the Art Kamangar Center at the Merced Theatre, 301 W. Main St. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students. For tickets or more information call (209) 381-0500 or go to

UC Merced exhibit

State of Merced College luncheon

Merced College Foundation will hold the annual State of the College address and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. April 11 at the Office of Public Affairs, 3600 M St. Cost is $50 each, or sponsor a table of eight for $500. Corporate sponsorships are available for $1,000. Call (209) 381-6470.

Support the Troops run

The Veterans Memorial-Support the Troops Run will be at 9 a.m. April 26 starting at Merced Power Sports, 265 W. 15th St. This is a free event, but organizers ask participants to bring a donation for care packages for U.S. troops serving overseas. Cancer Wellness fundraiser

The Cancer Wellness fundraiser yard sale will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 26 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church,1495 Underwood Ave. Proceeds will benefit Restorative Wellness Programs for Cancer Survivors.
