Kites, dogs and volunteers enliven county during upbeat weekend

Merced County was hopping last weekend thanks to many kites and dogs, with lots of love for the city mixed in. The Livingston Kite Festival, Yosemite Kennel Club Dog Show and Love Merced events brought hundreds of people to the area to participate in the activities. There were plenty of families in Livingston displaying their kite-flying skills and dog owners in Merced showing off their companions. Those who love their city and weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty turned out on a sunny Saturday to do some cleanup and beautification at different locations around town. Whether it was family fun, some intense competition or a little hard work, there was something for everybody in Merced County last weekend. And with spring heating up, more activities are on the way.
