Theater students at Atwater and Buhach Colony high schools will close their 2013-14 season with the celebrated characters of Charles Schulz’s comic strip as they present the classic musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”
The performances are scheduled at 7 p.m. May 8-10 at the Buhach Colony High School Theater, 1800 Buhach Road in Atwater, according to an ABC Productions news release.
Presented in its award-winning 1999 Broadway revival version, the musical presents snapshots of Schulz at his best, including Schroeder and Lucy at the piano; Charlie Brown and Lucy at the psychiatry booth; Linus with his blanket; Snoopy with his supper dish; and the whole gang at the baseball game.
Hilarious comic sequences are animated by high-energy song-and-dance routines – entertainment for adults and children alike, according to the release.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” stars Chris Espinoza as Charlie Brown, with Alison Deckers (Lucy), Josh Banuelos (Schroeder), Gunner Joachim (Linus), Mariana Jauregui (Sally Brown) and Luis Medina (Snoopy).
The cast is rounded out with an ensemble of singers and dancers.
Tickets for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” are $10 each for the general public. Group rates are also available.
All performances are general admission seating, with doors opening 30 minutes before curtain.
Tickets will be on sale at the theater beginning 30 minutes before performances; cash and checks only are accepted. For more information, contact Buhach Colony theater arts teacher C. Alan Bettis at email@example.com.
