Every year at the Nannini Baseball Game between Merced and Golden Valley, seniors are presented with scholarships. What started as three or four scholarships per year has grown into every senior player with a 2.5 GPA or higher from both schools getting a scholarship.

The Brian and Kevin Nannini Foundation has awarded more than 120 scholarships for over $50,000 since 2004. At this year’s game, the foundation handed $300 scholarships to 19 players on Golden Valley and Merced High School teams.

Brian and Kevin Nannini drowned in a boating accident in February 2004. Their parents, Dave and Suzy Nannini, started the foundation to honor them.
