Kiwanis club gets ready for Easter Egg Hunt

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced will hold their 26th annual Easter Egg Hunt 9:30 a.m. today at Applegate Park for children up to 10 years of age. The event is free to the public. Kiddieland will be open with special hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Livingston/Delhi VFW building materials sale

The Livingston/Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8327 will hold a huge Building Materials sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. All sales are final – cash or checks only, no credit cards. Proceeds benefit the California Veterans Service Program.

Treasurer-tax collector candidate fundraiser

Gateway Gardens will hold a fundraising dinner and dessert auction for Richard St. Marie, who is running for Merced County Treasurer-Tax Collector. The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at 560 W. 18th St. Tickets are $35 per person (the price has changed from $45 per person). Siege weapon competition is preparing to launch

Professor Lana Jordan’s Physics 4A and 4B students participate in the Siege Weapon Competition each year. They build full-scale trebuchets or catapults and then launch basketballs from them. This will take place from 12:30 to 4 p.m. April 30 at the Merced College practice soccer fields, next to the Tri-College Center. Call (209) 381-6470 for more information.

Leadership workshop planned at Merced College

Merced College is offering a two-day workshop called Challenges of Leadership. It runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 1 and 8 at the College Business Resource Center, 630 W. 19 St. Cost is $23 and earns a half unit of college credit. Call (209) 386-6733 for more information.
