Teen courses in Yosemite
UC Berkeley’s Adventure Risk Challenge Program is offering a six week class for teenagers to explore Yosemite National Park. This program was founded in 2004 in Tahoe, and ARC has served Merced County students since 2009. Applications are due Friday and all Merced County ninth- through twelfth-graders are eligible to apply for the summer course. ARC is a scholarship-based program and partial to full financial support is provided to all accepted students.
Valley Crisis benefit
The Kappa Sigma Fraternity of UC Merced will hold a community event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at UC Merced. The event will be a fundraiser to benefit the Valley Crisis Center and consists of paint twister and giant Jenga games, and will offer music and other activities. Cancer Society dinner

Western dance classes
Merced College Community Services is offering two new classes: Western Line Dance at 7:30 p.m. and Western Partner Dance at 6:30 p.m. They will be held Fridays, April 25 through May 30 at Merced College in Gym 4. The cost is $35. Call (209) 384-6224.
Founder’s Day event
