Blues Bash

at Club Mercedes

The Club Mercedes will host a Blues Bash at 6 p.m. Friday at the club, 569 W. Ninth St. Tickets are $10 per person. The beverage and snack bar will be open. Must be 21 to attend. ‘Best Little Whorehouse

in Texas’ on stage

The musical “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” is playing weekends through May 18 at Playhouse Merced.

Tickets are on sale for Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $22 for adults, $20 seniors, $12 students and $10 children.

Purchase tickets by calling (209) 725-8587, or visiting the box office at 452 W. Main St. in downtown Merced, Tuesday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The show is rated “M,” containing mature themes, situations and language, according to the press release.

Tribute to

Johnny Cash

James Garner is scheduled to perform a tribute to Johnny Cash at 8 p.m. May 17 at the Merced Theatre. According to a press release, Garner and his band perform Cash’s music, combining it with historical accounts and personal anecdotes. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased on the theater’s website, www.mercedtheatre.org, or by calling the box office at (209) 381-0500. The Merced Theatre box office, 307 W. Main St., is open Tuesday-Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

‘Secrets, Shields and Steel’

The anti-bully stage play “Secrets, Shields and Steel” is scheduled to be performed at 6 p.m. May 17 at El Capitan High, 100 Farmland Ave., in Merced. Admission is $5.

Kenny Rogers to perform in Merced

Country music legend Kenny Rogers is scheduled to perform at the Merced Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9. For more information, visit tickets.mercedtheatre.org.
