The Atwater Veterans of Foreign Wars post has a breakfast the first Sunday of the month and Hamburger Night every Wednesday. All proceeds benefits veterans. Members are looking for more veterans to join the post. Call (209) 358-7224 for more information about joining and costs.

SPCA meets monthly

Memorial Day ceremony

The Livingston-Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8327 and the Ladies Auxiliary will hold their annual Memorial Day ceremony at 6 p.m. on the traditional date of the holiday, May 30, at the Livingston Memorial Park, Park and Main streets. Mental Health Board

The Merced County Mental Health Board will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on June 3 at 1748 Miles Court, Suite B.

Pet ownership workshop

A responsible pet ownership workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon June 7 at the Livingston City Council chamber at 633 Main St. The topics will be animals and the Livingston Municipal Codes, and proper care for pets. There will be time for questions. Anyone who attends will receive a free one-year license, and the first 25 people will receive a pet goodie bag. Help for homeless, pregnant women

JMJ Maternity Homes, a faith-based 501(c)3, provides homeless pregnant women with shelter, resources and support services in a nurturing Christian environment. The maternity and resident programs provide shelter and support services to facilitate prenatal and post-partum health, counseling, case management, food, clothing and more. Food Addicts in Recovery

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous is a 12-step recovery program that meets every week on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 302 W. K St.
