2 arrested in Winton vehicle vandalism

Two men were arrested Sunday night in connection to a series of vandalism incidents reported in the Cypress Avenue and Crawford Street area in Winton.

Officials said deputies responded to several calls about 11 p.m. from people who said their cars’ windows had been shattered.

According to reports, Deputies Rickey Barcelo, Larry Hudec and Jose Plascencia arrived at the scene and began documenting the damage when they spotted two people who fit the descriptions of possible suspects.

The deputies confiscated a BB gun from John Tapetillo, 21, of Atwater and Isaac Daniel Alarcon, 23, of Winton. The two men were arrested and booked on felony vandalism.

As of Monday, Alarcon was out on bail and Tapetillo was still in custody.
