Memorial for teachers

The California Retired Teachers’ Association will host its yearly memorial meeting and luncheon starting at 10 a.m. Monday at the Fish and Game Building at Lake Yosemite. The association will honor teachers who have retired or died during the year. Call (209) 358-9061 for more information.

VFW to hold blood drive

The Livingston/Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary will hold a community blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. on June 12 at the hall, 1605 Seventh St. in Livingston. Donate a pint of blood and receive a coupon for a meal hosted by the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary. Call (209) 394-2059 or go to vfwlivingston.com. Walk-ins are always welcome.

Last meeting of neuropathy support group

The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. on June 12 at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St. This meeting will be the last of the summer. The next one will be Sept. 11. Call (209) 358-2045 for more information.

Building young leaders

Summer workshops for building young leaders will offer more than 40 workshops to keep children and youths engaged and having fun. Topics range from chemistry to cooking, dancing to puppetry. Cellphones for seniors

The Merced County Area Agency on Aging is asking for unneeded cellphones for distribution to Merced County seniors ages 60 and older. Seniors will only be able to call 911 for emergency assistance. Cell phones should have a charging unit and a battery that will hold a charge. Call (209) 385-7550.

Rent the VFW hall

The Atwater VFW Club hall is available to be rented by the public for parties. It holds 150 people and has a full-service kitchen. Call (209)358-7224.
