Odd Fellows breakfast
The Rebekahs and the La Grange Odd Fellows will serve breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall on Main St. on June 8. Cost is $6. Breakfast is biscuits and gravy, sausage, potatoes, French toast, eggs cooked to order, coffee and orange juice. Call (209) 853-2128 for details.
Blood drive at fairgrounds
The Merced County Fair will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the fairgrounds, 939 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The drive will help counter a slowdown in blood donation slowdown during the summer. No appointments needed. Donors should drink plenty of fluids, and bring a donor card or photo identification. Dawg Daze coming up
The Merced Dog Owners Group will hold its second Dawg Daze event from 9 a.m. to noon on June 7 at the Merced City Dog Park. There will be agility playtime, basic training information, grooming advice and a doggy yard sale. The group will collect unopened bags and cans of dog food for needy families with dogs. Food program for children
The Weaver Unified School District announces the sponsorship of Seamless Summer Food Program for Children starting June 9. Monday through Friday lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. at Pioneer Elementary, 2950 Gerard Ave., and at Farmdale Elementary, 100 Winder Ave. All children 18 and younger will be served lunches at no charge. Support for stroke survivors
The Stroke Support Group is open to anyone who has survived a stroke. Family, friends and caregivers are also welcome. The group meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on June 12 at Mercy Medical Pavilion, third floor, classroom A, 315 Mercy Ave., Merced. There is no cost or registration required to attend. Kiddieland is open
Kiddieland is open on weekends from 1 to 5 p.m. from late March through October. It can be reserved for birthday parties from 10 a.m. to noon on weekends. Call (209) 385-6232 for more information.
