Educational Foundation looking for help
The newly formed nonprofit, Winton Educational Foundation, seeks people interested in improving the education of Winton students, increasing economic development in Winton and providing referral services to the community. The organization meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month. Stroke support group
A Merced stroke support group is open to anyone who has survived a stroke. Family, friends and caregivers are welcome. Meetings are held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the second Thursday of every month at the Mercy Medical Pavilion, third floor, classroom A, 315 Mercy Ave. There is no cost or registration required to attend. Library book sale
Friends of the Merced County Library is holding a book sale until June 30 at 2100 O St. in Merced. Fill a bag with hardback fiction or nonfiction books for $3.
Library summer reading
“Paws for Reading” is the theme of this year’s summer reading program atLivingston Branch Library. The program takes place at the library, 1212 Main St., at 2 p.m. every Tuesday until July 29. All young people are welcome. Call (209) 394-7330 for details .

Cellphones for seniors
The Merced County Area Agency on Aging is requesting donations of unneeded cellphones for distribution to Merced County seniors 60 and older. Seniors will be able to call 911 for emergency assistance only. Phones should have a charging unit and a battery that will hold a charge. Call (209) 385-7550 for information.
