Summer arts classes

The Merced Multicultural Art Center offers many classes this summer at 645 W. Main St. on the third floor.

Exhibition reception

A reception for “Range: County Artists Across the Spectrum” is scheduled to be held 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. in downtown Merced. The exhibit runs Saturday through Sept. 19 at the center.

The exhibit includes works by Natalie Porter, CHAA, the Enrichment Center and the 2014 Curator’s Award winners.

Flashback at Star Club

Flashback is scheduled at the Star Club from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, 1331 W. Main St., Merced.

There is no cover charge. You must be at least 21 to enter.

Dance class

Nightclub two-step dance classes will be held on Thursdays for six weeks, beginning Thursday, in the ballroom at the Senior Community Center. The beginners class will be held from 7 to 7:45 p.m. and the intermediate class 8 to 8:45 p.m.

Cost is $25 for the whole session or $5 per class plus a $1 per class supply fee paid to the instructors. Register at Merced’s recreation office at 678 W. 18th St. or call (209) 385-6235.

Jazz Trio to perform

The Mikel Soria Jazz Trio is scheduled to perform from 7 to 9 p.m. July 25 at Vista Ranch and Cellars, 7326 Highway 140.

The group is also scheduled to play at Strings Italian Cafe, 731 E. Yosemite Ave., 7 to 9 p.m. July 26.

‘Menopause the Musical’

“Menopause the Musical” is scheduled to be shown at 3 and 7 p.m. July 26 at the Merced Theatre, 301 W. Main St. in downtown Merced.

Star Club jam session

A jam session is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Star Club, 1331 W. Main St., Merced.

There is no cover charge. You must be at least 21 to enter.

Foreverland in Merced

Foreverland, a 14-piece tribute band dedicated to the music of Michael Jackson, is scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Merced Theatre, 301 W. Main St. Tickets went on sale Tuesday.

Kenny Rogers in Merced

Country music legend Kenny Rogers is scheduled to perform at the Merced Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9.
