The southbound offramp from Interstate 5 to the Santa Nella weigh station, north of Whitworth Road, is scheduled to reopen soon after being closed for about a year, according to the California Department of Transportation.
The offramp closed Aug. 19, 2013, as part of the I-5 Weigh Station Improvements Project. The $3 million dollar project will remodel the weigh station and ramps from McCabe Road to Whitworth Road.
Angela DaPrato, a spokeswoman with Caltrans, explained that the project took “a little longer than anticipated” but should be complete in late summer or early fall.
The project’s progression is subject to traffic incidents, weather, and availability of equipment and materials, according to officials.
Motorists should not expect delays, but are encouraged to take alternate routes whenever possible.
