Police are on the lookout for two men who robbed the occupant of an apartment in the 1800 block of West North Bear Creek Drive late Monday night.

Police are on the lookout for two men who robbed the occupant of an apartment in the 1800 block of West North Bear Creek Drive late Monday night.

Officers responded to the scene at 11:10 p.m. after the 25-year-old victim said the robbers, one of whom was armed with a handgun, had stolen his television and other items from his apartment. The victim described the suspects as a Hispanic man and a Black man both in their early to mid-20s, according to a Merced police press release.

The victim reported that he had returned home and saw the Hispanic man standing next to his apartment. When the victim opened the front door, he was confronted by the Black man, who put a gun to the victim’s head and told him to get out of the apartment, or he would kill him.

The victim walked back into the parking lot. The gunman walked out the front door past the victim, pointed the gun at him and carried the victim’s TV and other items. The gunman met up with the other robber, who was the lookout. Both robbers left with the items. The victim was shaken and scared, but otherwise unhurt, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Merced Police Department Detectives Division at (209) 385-4702 or the department’s automated tipline at (209) 385-4725.
