A 55-year-old Turlock man died Sunday afternoon when his ultralight plane crashed.
San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputy Les Garcia Monday identified the dead man as Keith Sutton Erwin.
According to the Tracy Press, the accident happened about 2:30 p.m. 800 feet above the New Jerusalem Airport southeast of Tracy.
The pilot was doing flips when one of the wings snapped, a witness said.
A parachute attached to the ultralight opened, but it got tangled in the plane's tail, and the aircraft's nose dived into the ground about 200 feet south of the runway.
