Police from Fresno, Madera and Tulare counties will participate in the Special Olympics’ Flame of Hope torch run this week as it makes its way through the central San Joaquin Valley.
The torch run will start in Tulare’s Zumwalt Park this morning and head through Visalia to Kingsburg. The run will continue Thursday through Selma and Fresno to Madera, and reach Chowchilla on Friday.
The events are part of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, which has become the largest supporter of the Special Olympics Northern California, having raised $9.3 million since 1995.
The events culminate at the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games, June 25-27 at UC Davis.
