Doctors at Central Valley Cardiovascular Medical Group welcomed the public to their new facility at an open house Wednesday night.
The meet and greet was held in the suite above APEX Medical Group on I Street. Dr. Fariba Amani, Dr. Oussama Dagher, Dr. Yohannes Gebreegziabher and Dr. Reza Hazari met with City Council members, staff and community members, and gave a tour of their office. The suite has five patient rooms, each with a specialized service.
Central Valley Cardiovascular Medical Group specializes in diseases affecting the heart, vessels and veins.
Amani said the group even has a nuclear camera for doing stress tests.
“Even the hospital doesn’t have it, so this is the only place in Los Banos,” she said.
The group even has a treadmill for additional stress tests and pacemaker and defibrillator checks for all major companies that provide those to patients.
Amani said the services have been well-received. The doctors have been serving patients since September and rotate in and out of the office Monday through Friday.
“There’s a big demand here,” she said. “From Merced to Fresno to San Jose, there is no cardiologist.”
Amani added that there is a large population of elderly in Los Banos and she sees many with cardiac disease.
“They usually go to Fresno or Modesto,” she said, “so it’s very convenient for them to have services close to home.”
Gebreegziabher, another cardiologist, said the move to Los Banos was a good one.
“The patients are very happy,” he said. “We start to have a relationship and a bond and it’s been very good.”
The Central Valley Cardiovascular Medical Group is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (209) 826-4800.
