Two masked men approached a woman preparing to drive away from her residence early Monday, police said.
Officers responded to the 2300 block of North Creekside Drive after receiving a call reporting trespassing at 4:27 a.m.
A woman, 44, reportedly told police she was backing a vehicle out of her garage when she was approached by two males wearing dark clothing and ski masks. The suspects demanded she open the door, police said. The woman refused and the suspects began hitting the windows with a wooden club type object, police said.
The suspects fled the area on foot when the woman dialed 9-1-1 on her cell phone. The suspects were last seen running north through Veteran’s Memorial Park.

According to Cmdr. Jason Hedden, police believe the suspects may have known the victim’s daily routine. The suspects were thought to be lying in wait for the victim as she left her residence, police said.
“Our detectives are hard at work examining evidence left at the scene and reviewing video surveillance. At this point in the investigation they are piecing together evidence and gathering additional witness statements,” Hedden said
