Students at R.M. Miano Elementary School plant trees Tuesday (02-25-14) after receiving a $4,350 grant in January awarded by Lowe’s Home Improvement. The grant money was used to purchase more than 40 different trees. The new trees will replace some trees that were planted around the perimeter of the field behind the school. De Alba said everyone at the school will benefit from the trees, including younger grades, which will have the opportunity to use the trees for science projects and for different types of studies. The tentative plan is to place a tree every 45-feet around the field.
