Texas country-music fans from all over are expected in Los Banos as singer-songwriter Tom Russell takes to the stage.
Followers of the folk, Tex-Mex and cowboy music performer are coming in from several states, said Cyndi Roelofs, Los Banos Arts Council vice president of program development.
Russell is set to perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ted Falasco Arts Center, 1105 Fifth St. This is the final performance in the 2013-14 concert series.
“We are proud that the Los Banos Arts Council has events that draw people from all over,” she said.
Never miss a local story.
Some of Russell’s songs have been recorded by such icons as Johnny Cash, Dave Van Ronk, Jerry Jeff Walker, Doug Sahm and Jack Elliott, according to his website.
Russell has also appeared on the David Letterman show and has songs featured in movies and television series such as “The Road to Nowhere,” “Tremors,” “Songcatcher” and “Northern Exposure.”
Roelofs said people from Nevada, Oregon and Arizona have expressed interest in the show.
“What a great way to introduce our city to many who have never been off the many highway before,” she said. “These types of events do so much for our community.”
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 the day of the show. Call the Los Banos Arts Council at (209) 826-6132 or www.losbanosarts.org.
