A male who had his firearms, electronics and automobile stolen was able to get some of the items back after his father spotted the vehicle in a parking lot the next day, police said.
Police received a report of a residential burglary in the 1800 block of Place Road at 7:35 p.m. Monday. The victim, identified as a male, told police his vehicle, guns, electronic equipment and other household items had been stolen.
Cmdr. Jason Hedden said the man’s father called police after he spotted his son’s vehicle the next day in a parking lot at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Sixth Street.
Officers Todd Pricolo and Christopher Borchardt found a man inside the vehicle. The man was also discovered to allegedly be in possession of drugs and one of the two firearms taken during the burglary, police said.
James Fransham, 23, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, grand theft auto, grand theft, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine. He is being held at the John Latorraca Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 bail.
“This is another example of citizens and police working together to battle crime in our community. Most importantly, a weapon was taken out of the hands of criminals, ” Hedden said.
