Del Rio honored

Efrain Del Rio just missed out on writing his name into Dos Palos High School lore. Del Rio fell one home run shy (nine) of sharing the school’s single-season record with legends Leonard Davis and Adam Calvert. He’ll have to settle for being the area’s only baseball player named to Cal-Hi Sports’ all-state teams on Tuesday. Del Rio was named to the small-school first team as amulti-purpose player after helping lead the Broncos to a co-West Sierra League title and being named co-MVP in his junior season. He hit .418 with 40 RBIs in 27 games and went 10-4 with a 1.95 ERA on the mound.

Track conditioning

Loftin Stadium will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the month of July and the first week of August for summer track conditioning. Anyone in the community is welcome to come and work out.
