A Santa Paula man’s motorcycle caused another wreck on Highway 152 after it overturned in the fast lane earlier this week, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.
Joseph Hermosillo, 36, was driving a 2002 Harley-Davidson eastbound on Highway 152 near Dinosaur Point at 4:15 a.m. Sunday.
The motorcycle veered onto the shoulder and struck a raised asphalt curb, the CHP said. Hermosillo landed in the right shoulder, while the motorcycle came to a rest in the fast lane. Victor Marquez, 40, of Los Banos, lost control of his 2008 Nissan when it hit the motorcycle. The vehicle went onto the right shoulder and struck a rock embankment.
Marquez suffered minor lacerations and did not require medical attention. Hermosillo was taken to Memorial Hospital, Los Banos, where he was treated for major injuries. The CHP was unable to locate Hermosillo’s helmet, which reportedly came off during the wreck.
The crash remains under investigation.
