Four validated gang members were arrested last week after allegedly robbing an ice cream vendor, police said.

Detective Eduardo Solis said officers responded to the 800 block of Nickel Street at 4:53 p.m. July 16.

Officers were told the four males approached an ice cream vendor and demanded money while threatening him with a knife.

The 14-, 15-, 16- and 18-year-old males fled toward the 1400 block of Canal Farm Lane.

Three were found at Galaxy Apartments in the 800 block of Mercey Springs Road. The 16-year-old was captured in the 1300 block of Canal Farm Lane.

Solis said they are members of the Norteños criminal street gang. They were arrested on suspicion of robbery and participation in a criminal street gang.

The minors were taken to Merced County juvenile hall, and Gabriel Camarillo is being held at Merced County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond.
