Apex Medical Group in Los Banos offered free athletic physicals last week to Los Banos Unified students.

A total of 356 students took them up on the offer, with 151 children getting checked up on Aug. 7 and another 121 on Aug. 8. Another 86 received physicals earlier in the week.

Sports physicals are required for all athletes that compete in high school sports, and are required to be turned in before a player can practice with a team. The first day of practice for San Joaquin Section teams was Monday.
