The public is invited to review the environmental study that favors building a new Yosemite Environmental Education Center at Henness Ridge near Yosemite West.
The new development would replace the aging education center at Crane Flat, which would be returned to its natural condition, according to the plan. The plan is the result of studies, workshops and public comments.
The center would continue to be run by the Yosemite Institute, a nonprofit partner organization providing programs for children in Yosemite National Park since 1971.
The environmental documents can be read at fblinks.com/yose. The National Park Service will file a final decision to be published in the Federal Register in about 30 days.
