Yosemite National Park officials are searching for a missing 69-year-old hiker.
Gene Hall was last seen in the Vogelsang area on Tuesday, Aug. 30. He may have climbed Vogelsang Peak, but was headed toward Merced Lake. Yosemite search and rescue workers are asking people who were in the Vogelsang area or on the High Sierra Loop between Aug. 26 and Sept. 3 to call (209) 372-0522.
Hall is 5-foot-10, about 180 pounds with short gray hair and a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a tan or olive-colored shirt, tan synthetic pants and a dark green or black rain jacket. He has a dark REI backpack, purple sleeping bag, 3/4-length Thermarest pad, a Fly Creek 2 tent and silver or black hiking poles.
