Four people were arrested Saturday morning after a burglary was reported in Hilmar. The owner of a home in the 7000 block of Lander Avenue drove by his property early Saturday and saw four people he didn't recognize standing in front of the house, which he rents to his daughter. He stopped to talk with the visitors and blocked their cars in the driveway. Two Merced County sheriff's deputies arrived a short time later and found exercise and camping equipment belonging to the renters in the vehicles. Inside the home, the deputies found two duffel bags stuffed with the renters' property sitting next to the front door. One of the suspects, Jeremy Johnson, 36, of Turlock, was on parole. He was arrested, along with Tony Corbin, 40, of Empire; Melissa Warr, 21, of Turlock; and Rhonda Jolliff, 51, a transient. All four were booked at Merced County Jail on $50,000 bail.
