Police arrested three people this week in the April shooting death of a 28-year-old Ceres woman. Joseph Dixon, 33, Desiree Mills, 26, and Madeline Lopez, 35, all of Modesto, were arrested on suspicion of murder, said police spokesman Sgt. Brian Findlen. They are in custody at the Public Safety Center.
Shannon Case was found shot to death April 4 near Robertson Road Park in southwest Modesto.
Police released no details about the events that led to Case's death. Officers responded to a report of shots fired near Pelton Avenue and Hammond Street about 1:30 a.m. and found Case's body in a parked car. Case was pronounced dead at the scene.
Case's father, Shane Case, said in April that he last spoke to his daughter about 4:30 p.m. April 3. She was excited to go out that night in Modesto and had just bought a new outfit, Case said. Case was the mother of two children.
Police would not say which of the three people arrested is suspected of firing the shot or shots that killed Case. Findlen said the three "acted in concert" the night of Case's death. Police received several leads through the Crime Stoppers tip line, said Findlen. Dixon and Lopez were arrested Tuesday in downtown Modesto. Mills was arrested Wednesday in a residence in the 400 block of Colorado Avenue.
