One more inmate at the Men's Honor Farm has come down with norovirus, which causes severe vomiting and diarrhea, a Stanislaus County sheriff's spokesman said Saturday. The inmate has been isolated with 10 others who are sick with the highly contagious illness, said deputy Royjindar Singh. The 11 inmates are being monitored by medical staff, and their conditions do not appear to be worsening, Singh said. Isolation of the 10 began Friday afternoon. None of the inmates have been hospitalized. The Honor Farm also suspended inmate work crews over the weekend. The crews are assigned to clean parks, highways and other public areas. Singh said officials will decide Monday whether to resume sending out the work crews. The Honor Farm accepts visitors only on weekends, and visits were suspended this weekend. The norovirus symptoms should clear up within 48 hours, Singh said.
