Milk Mustache Mobile Drink Well, Live Well Tour is traveling coast-to-coast. The tour will be cruising through Modesto and co-hosting a free event with Foster Farms Dairy, the makers of Crystal Dairy products. Residents can visit the event to experience free, interactive activities including health assessments from a registered dietitian, ice cream and smoothie samples, five-minute chair massages and souvenir milk mustache photos. Attendees also can have a chance to win a healthy meal from a personal chef and a year's supply of milk.
SUMMER READING CLUB: THE MAGIC OF READING

The rhythm and blues band Juke Joint Jokers will be performing at Bob Hart Square from 5 to 7 p.m. A jazz band will be playing at Fernando's Bistro from 7 to 9 p.m. Other SummerFest activities include Guitar Hero competitions, Nintendo Wii games, bounce houses, face painting. INFO: In an ongoing effort to ensure the children of Stanislaus County are being transported appropriately and safely in child safety seats, the Modesto Police Department will combine efforts with personnel from other Stanislaus County law enforcement and fire agencies to conduct free child safety seat checks. Based on surveys and studies conducted throughout Stanislaus County, it is estimated that over 90 percent of child safety seats are installed or used incorrectly. Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to have a free child safety seat check may schedule an appointment by contacting the Modesto Police Department at 572-9500.
