The Stanislaus District received two No. 2 seeds and three No. 3s for next week's CIF Sac-Joaquin Section volleyball playoffs.
The section released its playoff brackets on Thursday afternoon.
The opening round of the section postseason tournament kicks off Tuesday, with all games scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The tournament concludes Thursday, Nov. 19, with championship games for divisions 1 through 5 to be held at UC Davis.
Modesto High, which completed its third consecutive undefeated Modesto Metro Conference campaign, earned the No. 3 seed in Division 1. The Panthers (30-6, 15-0 MMC) will host No. 14 Vintage of Napa in a rematch of the teams' section playoff opener a year ago.
"We're very excited," Modesto co-coach Gloria Magana-Gentry said of her team's seeding. "We played (Vintage) in the first round last year at home, too. Obviously, they made it back to the playoffs, so they're still up there doing pretty well."
Central California Conference champion Atwater (15-0, 12-0 CCC) received the No. 3 seed in Division 2. The Falcons will host No. 14 Elk Grove.
Valley Oak League champion Sonora (31-6, 17-0 VOL) is seeded second in Division 3 and carries a 16-game winning streak into Tuesday night's home match against No. 15 El Dorado of Placerville.
"I'm pretty ecstatic right now," Sonora coach Kathryn Spotorno said. "Sonora's never been ranked second in volleyball before, so it's pretty exciting.
"We've just been getting stronger. We're healthy right now. We have some experience and we have a lot of drive. The girls are playing within themselves and playing smart volleyball, and I'm really excited for them."
Trans-Valley League champion Ripon (35-9, 14-1 TVL) is the No. 3 seed in Division 4. The Indians host the No. 14 Indians of Marysville.
Western Athletic Conference champion Orestimba (24-6, 14-1 WAC) is the No. 6 and will host No. 11 Colfax.
TVL runner-up Escalon (25-3, 13-2 TVL) is the No. 4 D-4 seed and hosts No. 13 Capital Christian of Sacramento.
