The presidential vacancy at Modesto Junior College drew strong interest, with 39 applicants meeting the position's minimum requirements, as of the application deadline Friday. Of those, 24 are from California and 15 are from out of state. There were no internal applicants, officials said Monday.
The next step is screening the paper applicants to find a handful of finalists for interviews.
MJC Dean Ken White is serving as interim president after former President Richard Rose was asked to leave in December.
Officials said they plan to have a successor chosen by summertime.
