RIVERBANK COUNCIL TO HEAR BUDGET UPDATE: The City Council is expected tonight to receive a midyear update on Riverbank's budget, which started July 1. City officials say the city's general fund and other funds are in good shape despite the recession, according to a staff report. Staff is asking the council to adopt several midyear budget adjustments that total about $42,000. The council also is being asked to accept an auditor's reports on the city and Redevelopment Agency budgets for the fiscal year that ended June 30. A representative from Clendenin Bird & Co., a Modesto accounting firm, will be on hand to present the reports. The council meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the council chambers, 6707 Third St.
