Longtime barber Bob Coon gives his great-great-grandson, 5-month-old Landon Holt, his first haircut Thursday morning at Ulloa’s Barber Shop indowntown Riverbank.
Little Landon needn’t have worried: Great-great-grandpa brings some experience to the chair.
Coon, who will turn 89 in March, has been a barber for 62 years and still works Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the shop he sold a few years back to Arnold Ulloa. And Landon is the 17th boy in the family to get his first trim from Coon.
Beginning with his own son Robert, Coon also gave inaugural haircuts to three grandsons and 12 greatgrandsons. Landon is the first of the great-greatgrandsons, and squirmed less in the chair than any of the greatgrandsons, Coon said.
