Stanislaus County sheriff's officials said the two men and one woman detained and questioned Sunday evening in a residential burglary were not responsible for the break-in.
Sgt. Kevin Davis said the three are acquaintances of the victim, and deputies determined they were not responsible for the burglary in the 800 block of Herndon Road in south Modesto. Davis said a washer and dryer, at least one television and other household items stored in the garage were stolen. Deputies believe the burglary took place over the weekend.
A neighbor called the woman who lives in the residence about 5 p.m. Sunday after spotting three people enter the home. The woman, who was not home at the time, called authorities.
