A fire destroyed an outbuilding in Riverbank early Sunday and caused about $2,000 in damage, officials said. The fire was reported at 4:38 a.m. in the 4800 block of Sante Fe Street, said acting Capt. Zack Gardner with the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District. He said an outbuilding measuring about 15 feet by 15 feet burned. Firefighters kept the blaze from spreading to a larger outbuilding attached to the smaller building. Both outbuildings are behind a residence. No one was injured. Clothes, CDs, DVDs, books and other household items burned, Gardner said. A Modesto Fire Department investigator said the cause of the fire was undetermined, according to Gardner.
