Whitmore Ave., Events: Avenue of Flags, keynote speaker Mayor Anthony Cannella, Sheriff Adam Christianson will read the Roll Call of the Fallen, and Steve Scott will pay a special tribute to Capt. Raymond Hill and Lance Cpl. Juana Navarro-Arellano, who were killed in Iraq.

COLUMBIA: The Columbia Dragoons re-enact historical events from Tuolumne Rangers, Civil War volunteers. A historical black powder salute presented by the Columbia Grenadine Belles and the Columbia Foot Dragoons. Columbia City Cemetery, Columbia. 10:45 a.m.
RIVERBANK: Dedication of a war memorial and placing of a plaque to honor Petty Officer 3rd Class James Layton. The Riverbank resident and Navy corpsman was killed in Afghanistan. The Band of the Golden West from Travis Air Force Base will perform. In front of the community center, 3600 Santa Fe St., 11 a.m.
