A Ripon man died after losing control of his motorcycle and colliding with a truck trailer Friday.
The 3:50 p.m. accident was on Claribel Road at Terminal Avenue north of Modesto.
The 44-year-old motorcycle rider died from his injuries at Modesto's Memorial Medical Center.
The California Highway Patrol withheld the victim's identity pending notification of his relatives.

According to the CHP, the Ripon man stopped at the intersection, then "rapidly accelerated causing the rear wheel to lose traction in the gravel on Claribel Road."
His motorcycle rotated before regaining traction, plowing into the side of a truck trailer that was driving by. The victim was ejected from his 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle.
The truck driver, Sergio Mendoza of Modesto, was not injured.
