The new version of the iPhone had Americans flocking to Apple stores nationwide Thursday, and it was no different in Modesto.
At the Apple store at Vintage Faire Mall, two lines snaked out the door, across the plaza at The Village shops on the south side of the mall and around the corner toward Forever 21. And that was at mid-afternoon.
One line was for those who had reserved a new iPhone and the other, which was shorter, for those who were hoping to snag one that hadn’t been ordered in advance.
Some of those waiting outside the store said they began lining up Wednesday night. Apple supplied umbrellas and water for those caught in line amid rising temperatures as Thursday wore on.
