Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputies called to a Mono Way fight Sunday night found no crime had been committed. But two hours later, they returned when one of the men was stabbed, authorities said.
At the first call, witnesses said Kenneth Hansen and Dale McMillan had been involved in a verbal altercation.
At 11:28 p.m., deputies returned on a report of a stabbing. According to a report, they found Hansen in the living room with several stab wounds to his abdomen.
A search for Hansen ensued, with a California Highway Patrol helicopter called in for help. Deputies located him hours later hiding under a rear porch and took him into custody.
Hansen was listed in stable condition at a Modesto hospital.
