Modesto police will set up a special "saturation patrol" to crack down on drunk driving a week from tonight on Saturday, Aug. 14.
A police news release Friday night said the effort was part of the city's ongoing effort to improve traffic safety and keep people safe.
"Modesto Police Department will be conducting this “Zero Tolerance” DUI Saturation Patrol to target those who still don’t heed the message to designate a sober driver," the statement said.
Police in Modesto and several other nearby communities set up special DUI checkpoints from time to time. The locations are never disclosed in advance.
